BigLump is bang on right with the whereabouts of this. The road narrows between bollards as you go past the turning. You won't overtake a cyclist there without putting them in danger. All you've go to do is slow down and let them through then overtake them once you're past it. Slowing down for 30 metres is not going to drastically lengthen yur journey time.
Van driver = cock.
I've sadly seen a much, much worse incident on that stretch of road.

Ok, I've now watched the video.
The driver is a massive CUNT. That cannot be argued with, whatever your feelings about cyclists. That's similar to how I was knocked off my bike in April - it's a shit way to treat a human. There wasn't the space to go through, he could have killed him.
I hope his caution really causes him problems.

The cyclists that piss me off - apart from the ones out after dark on a wet night dressed head to toe in black with no lights and no reflectives - are the ones who tow tiny kids round on those trailers. Risking their kids' lives to make a statement about how green they are.

Can't tarnish every type of road user with the same brush.
The type of cyclist that does piss me off, are the ones who seem to prefer to cycle on pavements, presumeably 'cos they think they're safer than the roads, but then they themselves couldn't give a fuck about the safety of people on foot, judging by their speeds/lack of care.

I'm not a cyclist. Nor a white van driver.
White van bloke was clearly wrong.
Went to overtake the cyclist through the traffic island pinch point. Means he is far too close to the cyclist as he over took him. Bad driving. Cyclist did nothing wrong.

This is filmed at Epping New Road coming south near the turn off fo Rangers Road to go down into Chingford.
The comment about being too close says it all. Cyclists need to learn fast - they are not indestructible and do not own the road.
